Tolkien" began his career @ 6 months, 1 day old, his first time out w/Reserve Winners, Raleigh, NC spring show, Judge Dr. Alvin Krause of NV. Finishing with 3 majors!!! Tolkien has often been referred to as "the ambassador" of the American Rottweiler. At the same time he was being seriously campaigned in 2001, he also was being shown in the Jr. handling ring by an 11 year old girl. He has a heart of gold and is always willing to undertake any task asked. Even before Carting became a title to be earned at ARC Tolkien was pulling Linda's cart full of art and booth equipment into buildings. Many times Tolkien could work w/Linda to get into spaces cars were not permitted. One time a Lady peered out of her RV window and said "isn't that you special and won't he be exhausted to show"? Linda replied w/a smile "yes, he is and no he is a "working dog" and loves to help me rather than be in a crate". Tolkien has learned several tricks and loves to entertain anyone willing to clap and pet him, or,...especially cookies! He also smiles a lot. He has passed his trait of smiling onto to several of his kids.
